Directors: Odhrán Ó Casaide, Tom Doorley, Kieran Hanrahan
The DIT Irish Traditional Music Ensemble, which combines both instrumental and vocal music, was originally modelled on the pioneering work of Seán O Riada and Ceoltóirí Cualainn, but has since forged its own sound and style. The ensemble features some of the finest young musical talent in Ireland today. Recent highlights include: performances on RTÉ Radio 1’s Céilí House; the Dublin International Game Music Festival; the Opening Concert of the prestigious Temple Bar TradFest; collaborative performances with the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, China Conservatory of Music, the Chinese Embassy of Ireland, the Moroccan Embassy of Ireland, and the Korean Embassy of Ireland; a live radio and online broadcast for National Music Day with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra; a televised O2 Arena performance with the Notre Dame Marching Band; tours of Louvain (Belgium), Rome and Savannah, Georgia, USA.
