Patricia George is the flute professor at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and the American Band College.  She has taught on the faculties of the Eastman School of Music Preparatory Department, Idaho State University and Brigham Young University (Idaho).  She has been a Contributing Editor to Flute Talk magazine and written the monthly column The Teacher’s Studio for the past ten years.  This spring she assumes the position of Editor of the magazine.  With Phyllis Avidan Louke, she has written:  Flute 101: Mastering the Basics, Flute 102: Mastering the Basics, Flute 102: Solo Repertoire and The Flute Scale Book (www.fabulousflute.com).

A Flute Spa is a participatory masterclass focusing on the body, mind and performance skills.  The class covers stance, balancing the flute, warming up, developing technique, tone exploration and phrasing studies.  Bring your flute, note-taking materials, lunch and a music stand.
