BMus Hons

'The importance of team work became evident while working in the Glyndebourne chorus. It’s very difficult to prepare someone for the ‘real operatic world’, but thanks to the skills that the Conservatory gave me, I felt ready for it. Being a team player was an essential part of my study at DIT' ‒ Jennifer Hughes, BMus graduate

'My time at DIT as a postgraduate student has been hugely productive for me and I put this down to the quality of staff members available to postgraduate students, the creative atmosphere around the conservatory and the various performance opportunities the college offers where I've been able to put my on-going training into practise.  The quality of the training from the staff has been a great foundation for me as I have been starting my career and finishing my training simultaneously. The support I have received from the college in terms of opportunities to perform and learn from talented staff and students has been hugely beneficial to me and a key part of my development.' – Lawrence Thackeray, BMus graduate

'The best thing I have to say about the DIT is the teaching staff are amazing. No matter how hard a student is finding the courses they can always find help and support from the staff at the music college. I would endure another course just because the staff were like family to me.  I found it hard at times with the academics and sometimes I struggled with music, but I got the help and support I needed from my singing teacher and my repetiteur.  Great place of education made great by the people who bring it all together.' – Ian Whyte, BMus graduate

'DIT instrumental and vocal students demonstrate a high degree of musicianship, technical skill and professionalism when they work with RTÉ Orchestras, Quartet and Choirs. It is vital for the future of orchestral music and music in Ireland that institutions such as DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama continue to produce students of the highest calibre for the profession.’ ‒ Seamus Crimmins, Executive Director, RTÉ Performing Groups
