Eoin Tierney


Eoin Tierney Eoin graduated from NUI Maynooth with an honours Masters degree in Musicology in 1997. He also holds Licentiate Diplomas in Piano and Organ. He studied piano with Leonora Carney and organ with Peter Sweeney at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama.

Eoin has taught Junior and Adult musicianship at the Conservatory since 1997. He also teaches theory, piano, and organ in Kylemore College Music Centre, and Mater Dei Institute of Education. Since graduating Eoin has taught in various schools around Dublin. He has been Organ tutor at the Irish Church Music Association summer school in Maynooth for the past five years.

Working regularly as an accompanist, he has also given solo organ concerts around Ireland and in the United States. His performances include Fauré’s ‘Requiem’ and Bernstein’s ‘Chichester Psalms’ at St. Patrick’s College Drumcondra. He is organist of the churches of St. Columba’s, Iona Road and St. Peter’s, Phibsborough in Dublin.

Current interests include English organ music of the eighteenth-century. Eoin intends to commence studies for both PhD and Organ Fellowship shortly.
