• DIT Concerto Competition Winners: Anthony Flannery (trombone, MMus), Darren Hatch (saxophone, BMus), Elina Hakenen (violin, BMus), Adam Mc Donagh (piano, Junior Conservatory), Nae Wada (piano, Junior Conservatory), Ayane Yamanaka (piano, BMus)

• Aoife O Sullivan (MMus) and John-Owen Miley Read (Professional Voice Studies) have been invited to join the Glyndebourne Festival Chorus.

• Coleen Gormley (BMusEd Year 2) was awarded first prize in the 2008 Clonmel National Song Contest.  More Info . . .

• Martin Tourish (PhD) awarded 2nd prize in Second CHMHE Undergraduate Musicology Competition for his thesis, The James Tourish Collection: Its stylistic significance within its cultural context. More Info . . .

• Seán Mac Erlaine (MMus) was awarded the Best Young Irish Artist at Cork International Jazz Festival 2008.  More Info . . .

• Utsav Lal (Junior Conservatory) winner of 2008 Metro Eireann Media and Multicultural Award (MAMA) in the Individual Multicultural category.
