Our Staff and Visiting Lecturers

Our inspirational staff of eminent teachers and performing artists is drawn from local and national performing companies, including the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and many of our staff pursue performing careers in solo, chamber and orchestral music, recording and broadcasting.  

Our students benefit from the opportunity to work closely with them and with our Artists in Residence – the RTÉ Vanbrugh Quartet (members of staff), Concorde and the Chatham Saxophone Quartet – as well as the internationally acclaimed pianist Barry Douglas, one of our Visiting Lecturers. 

Each year we welcome a number of international visiting artists to give masterclasses, most recently:  Alison Balsom (trumpet), Evan Christopher (clarinet), Steve Cooney (guitar), Robert Dean (baritone), Nuccia Focile (soprano), Dmitri Jurowski (conductor), Bart van de Roer (piano) and the sonic.art saxophone quartet.
